As we anticipated in the preprint news, there is a new guy in town when modeling holes in multiple quantum dots: the magnetotunnel term. This process leads to spin-dependent tunneling amplitudes characterized by a new form of g-matrix, the gT matrix, with origins traced back to the intrinsic kinetic dependence of HH-LH interactions coupling to the Zeeman Hamiltonian of holes. The new term may not be particularly strong, but it packs a punch: its mere presence stabilizes sweet spots, even for quantum dots with different g-factors, and introduces new ones that simple models miss. Our results explain observed sweet spots in state-of-the-art shuttling and cQED experiments and apply broadly to sparse array encodings of any size.
