Our preprint on the magneto-tunneling term is out!
Awesome news everyone! Our preprint Sweet-spot protection of hole spins in sparse arrays via spin-dependent magneto-tunneling just got on the arxiv!!
We always play around with hole spin effective models in multiple quantum dots with the typical ingredients: detuning, tunneling, some dot-dependent g-matrix, some Rashba spin-orbit interaction in the form of a spin-flipping term, and so on. However, in our recent preprint we found there is another guy in town: the magneto-tunnel term. This new process leads to spin-dependent tunneling amplitudes and can be characterized by a new form of g-matrix, the gT matrix. Its origins can be traced back to the intrinsic kinetic dependence of HH-LH interactions, which directly couples to the Zeeman Hamiltonian of holes. As a consequence, tunneling gets renormalized depending on spin. The new term may not be particularly strong, but it packs a punch… its mere presence stabilizes sweet spots and potentially allows multiple sweet spots for hole flopping modes!!
