Carlos' preprint on switchable spin-photon interactions is out!
Awesome news everyone! Our preprint Switchable spin-photon coupling with hole spins in single-quantum dots just got on the arxiv!!
If you have ever read any of the news here ever, you will surely know that holes spins couple nicely with cavity photons. Normally, one extends the wavefunction across multiple dots to enlarge the coupling. However, it is potentially possible to couple even in minimal single dot setups. In this work we consider the limits of the single-dot single-hole coupling to photons. We find that unstrained Ge, a new material platform, may allow sizable and switchable spin-photon coupling in the few tens of MHz, potentially leading to an enhancement of scalability for this kind of qubits. This work is particularly special for being the continuation of Carlos’ Master thesis.
